Lubrication of Vibrating Screen Bearings
Initial situation
Sector: quarry, mining of inert minerals.
The customer has 3 vibrating screens and each screen has two bearings which cost about €800/piece.
The grease recommended by the manufacturer is being used. The lubrication is done every 15 days with approximately 1 liter of grease. However, the recommended grease drips due to the loads and temperatures generated by the application.
About every 7 months the bearing pair breaks and is replaced. Replacement required the intervention of 2 people for approximately 12 hours. The estimated downtime costs €7.000,- per day.
