Lubrication of tapered roller bearings in a steel mill

Initial situation

Sector: steel industry

The previous grease subjected to high temperature (160°C) is continuously washed out during the cooling phase of the tube. This leads to frequent bearing failures and weekly relubrication. To reduce the costs due to bearing breakage, in addition to automatic lubrication, an extraordinary lubrication (manual twice a week) has been introduced.
