Lubrication of vibrating screen bearings

In the rugged operating environment of a quarry, a customer faced a recurring issue with their three vibrating screens. Each screen is equipped with two bearings, costing approximately €800 each. The customer was adhering to the manufacturer's recommended grease, which was applied every 15 days, using approximately 1 liter of grease per lubrication cycle.

However, this grease proved inadequate for the harsh operating conditions, characterized by high loads and high temperatures generated by the vibrating screens.

The grease would drip, leading to premature bearing failure, on average every 7 months. This resulted in the need for costly bearing replacements, requiring the intervention of two technicians for approximately 12 hours per replacement. The estimated downtime cost associated with these replacements was €7,000 per day.

Our solution

To address these challenges, we recommended Interflon Grease MP2/3 fortified with MicPol® technology.

The result

Implementing Interflon Grease MP2/3 brought the customer the following advantages:

  • Extended lubricant life
  • Extended bearing life

  • Reduced downtime
  • Significant savings

The customer estimated that over three years, they saved over €20,000,- on labour, bearings and downtime.
