Initial situation
A gearbox on a packaging machine had become blocked due to pasty oil, preventing proper functioning of the arm. The customer tried various conventional gear oils, but no solution was found. As a result, the machine had to be shut down for six months, causing work overload on the other production lines. One operator per team had to manually carry out the packaging work for two hours. The company was planning to replace the gearbox, which would have cost €17,000.
Our solution
We proposed using Interflon Food Lube G220 with MicPol® technology. This is a high-performance CLP oil, specifically designed for lubricating and protecting drive and transport chains, gear boxes, guide ways and more under high loads.
The result
After using Interflon Food Lube G220, the gearbox was able to be saved and the need to replace it was eliminated. Production resumed without any further overload or need for manual operations. The company achieved considerable cost savings, including:

- Manual packaging operations: 2 hours of labour per team, 3 teams per day, for 6 months, for a total cost of €37,800
