The steel making process is characterized by difficult tribological conditions, such as process temperatures, corrosive coolants, abrasive dusts or large shock loads. Lubricants should be making a great contribution to protecting surfaces from tribocorrosion and to minimizing foreign particle entry, at the same time resisting heavy (shock) loads.
