Initial situation
A potato chip manufacturing facility was facing a recurring challenge: excessive wear on the chain of its dryer system. This accelerated wear necessitated the replacement of the chain twice a year. This not only disrupted production but also incurred significant costs: with the chain costing €227 per meter and the dryer requiring an 80-meter chain, each replacement amounted to an expenditure of €18,160.
