High Performance Multi-Purpose CLP oil with MicPol®

Interflon
Food Lube G150

High performance multi-purpose CLP oil. Specially formulated for lubricating and protecting drive and transport chains, gear boxes, guide ways and more under high loads and in wet conditions. Penetrates to the inner parts to significantly reduce friction and wear and increase service life of critical components that operate under extreme circumstances or are hard to re-lubricate.

Designed for adverse conditions of extreme loads and strong contamination. Fortified with MicPol® for increased lubricity. Provides long lasting protection against corrosion.

NSF H1, NSF 537 and NSF 538 certified, which gives this oil full acceptability for use in all areas where incidental contact with food, beverages or drugs may occur. Halal, Kosher and ISO 21469 certified.

Distinctive Properties and Key Advantages

  • Excellent protection against wear at extreme pressure
  • Resists water and dirt and prevents corrosion
  • Less stretching, binding, and ultimate failure of chains
  • Longer gear box oil life at reduced oil temperatures
  • Reduces power consumption
  • Excellent dry run characteristics
  • PFAS-free

Product Application Areas
Excellent, yet very cost effective choice for the lubrication of chains, gear boxes, guide ways, slides, injection moulding machine parts and many other components used in (heavy) industry and for the manufacturing, processing, packaging and transportation of food.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chains that jam and turn black after cleaning can have several contributing causes, including contamination, wear, corrosion and inadequate lubrication of the internal contact areas of the chain. Cleaning can remove lubricant from the pins and bushes, and when lubricant residues oxidise and mix with water, dirt and wear particles, dark deposits can form and the chain can start to bind.

Interflon Food Lube G150 has strong penetrating action that helps the lubricant reach the inner parts of the chain, even in wet and contaminated conditions. It also resists water and dirt, helping keep the internal contact areas lubricated after cleaning.

Fortified with MicPol® technology, Food Lube G150 forms a resilient, surface-bound tribofilm that helps reduce friction and wear and limit chain binding.

Identifying the underlying cause comes first, rather than assuming it is a lubricant issue alone.

To stop conveyor chains rusting after washdown, the lubricant film needs to stay on the chain surfaces and inside the chain while water is applied. Without that film, water can reach chain surfaces and internal contact areas where corrosion protection is insufficient.

Interflon Food Lube G150 is well suited to heavily loaded drive and transport chains operating in wet and contaminated conditions. It resists water and dirt and provides long-lasting protection against corrosion.

Fortified with MicPol® technology, Food Lube G150 forms a resilient, surface-bound tribofilm at the metal surface. Its micronised and polarised additives adhere strongly to the metal and help the tribofilm resist disruption by moisture, shear and load.

Food Lube G150 is NSF H1 registered for applications where incidental food contact may occur, and independently certified as PFAS-free (NSF 537) and MOAH-free (NSF 538).

How well the protection holds also depends on factors such as washdown frequency, cleaning method and relubrication interval.

There is no single viscosity grade that is right for every heavily loaded or wet conveyor chain. The correct viscosity depends on factors such as chain design, load, speed, operating temperature, lubrication method and equipment or OEM requirements. The lubricant must also be able to penetrate the chain and reach the areas where lubrication is required.

Interflon Food Lube G150 is a heavy-duty ISO VG 150 CLP oil (150 mm²/s at 40 °C, suitable from −10 °C to 100 °C) for heavily loaded applications, including drive and transport chains operating under high loads and in wet conditions. Other Food Lube G viscosity grades are available for different applications and operating conditions, but a higher viscosity is not automatically the better choice.

Interflon Food Lube G150 is an ISO VG 150 CLP oil that can be used in both gear and chain applications. CLP oils are typically used as industrial gear oils for heavily loaded gearboxes and other oil-lubricated machine components where strong wear protection and load-carrying performance are required. In the FZG gear test (A/8.3/90, DIN ISO 14635-1), Food Lube G150 passes load stage 12, the highest stage of the test.

Food Lube G150 combines these heavy-duty CLP properties with strong penetrating action, helping the lubricant reach internal contact areas. This makes it a multi-purpose oil for heavily loaded gearboxes, drive and transport chains and guide ways, including those operating in wet or contaminated conditions. It is NSF H1 registered, so it can be used in both applications where incidental food contact may occur.

Whether G150 is the right choice depends on the equipment and how it is used.

Conveyor chain stretch is usually caused by wear between the pins and bushes rather than by the chain material itself actually stretching. Poor lubrication, overloading and contamination can accelerate this wear.

Interflon Food Lube G150 has strong penetrating action that helps the lubricant reach the pins and bushes, where this wear develops. Fortified with MicPol® technology, it forms a resilient, surface-bound tribofilm on these contact surfaces that helps reduce friction and wear and limit chain stretching.

How much chain life can be extended still depends on the load, speed and operating conditions of the conveyor, and on how consistently the chain is relubricated.

For conventional conveyor and transport chains, a penetrating oil is generally a better choice than grease. Where a dry, non-sticky film is preferred, a dry lubricant is the alternative. The lubricant needs to reach the internal contact areas of the chain, particularly around the pins and bushes, and in wet environments it must also resist water washout.

Interflon Food Lube G150 is an ISO VG 150 CLP oil with strong penetrating action and resistance to water and dirt. These properties make it particularly well suited to heavily loaded chains operating in wet and contaminated conditions. It is NSF H1 registered, and certified PFAS-free and MOAH-free.

For chains with a special design or specific OEM lubrication requirements, the right choice may be different.
