Gears

Gears are mechanisms that mesh together via teeth and are used to transmit rotary motion from one shaft to another. They are typically mounted, or connected to other parts, via a shaft or base. Gears can serve as an efficient means to reverse the direction of motion, change rotational speed, or to change which axis the rotary motion is occurring on. There are many different types of gears, like spur gears, bevel gears, worm gears, rack & pinion gears etc. The teeth are the parts suffering most and either wear out or even break. Keeping them well lubricated is key, because a broken gear results in costly down-time. Check out how Interflon improves gear lubrication.
