Bio Grease MP2
Bio Grease MP2 is a biodegradable multipurpose grease specifically designed for applications where uncontrolled lubricant loss poses a risk of contaminating soil, groundwater, or surface water systems. It offers outstanding resistance to water and contaminants, making it ideal for outdoor machinery, off-shore operations, agriculture and the steel industry. The grease meets the stringent environmental standards set by the EU Ecolabel, a certification awarded only to products that significantly reduce harmful impacts on biodiversity and limit the use of hazardous substances.
Understanding the EU Ecolabel
The EU Ecolabel is a globally recognized, voluntary certification that promotes products and services demonstrating environmental excellence. It is the only EU-wide ISO 14024 Type 1 ecolabelling scheme. Its criteria are based on scientific evidence and standardized processes, ensuring transparency and consistency in promoting eco-friendly products.
The importance of the EU Ecolabel
The EU Ecolabel aims to mitigate environmental impacts across air, water, soil, and biodiversity. Products seeking this certification must:
- Demonstrate a limited impact on aquatic ecosystems.

PCR Packaging: Leading the way
Interflon was the first lubricant supplier to introduce post-consumer recycled (PCR) packaging for grease cartridges. This initiative played a critical role in securing the EU Ecolabel for Bio Grease MP2, which requires that plastic packaging contains at least 25% recycled content.
