Overhead conveyor chain lubrication
Initial situation
In an attempt to cut costs, a polyurethane producer replaced Interflon Lube HT with a cheaper competitor’s lubricant in their automatic chain lubrication system.
The outcome was the opposite of what they expected:
- Lubricant consumption increased 2.5× (from 10 to 25 litres/year)
- Excess dripping contaminated bearings and painted parts inside the curing oven
- Frequent cleaning interventions were required
- Higher environmental impact due to excess oil use and waste
Our solution
A joint cost analysis showed that the “cheaper” lubricant created significantly higher total costs, from excess maintenance to damaged painted parts.
The customer returned to Interflon Lube HT with MicPol® technology. This high-performance, PFAS-free lubricant adheres strongly to surfaces, resists high oven temperatures and provides long-lasting protection with far lower consumption.
