High performance Chain Oil with MicPol®

Interflon
Food Lube G (aerosol)

High performance oil which has been specially formulated for the food industry to protect and lubricate chains, including drive and transport chains and guide ways etc. Significantly reduces wear to increase service life of critical and expensive machine parts that operate under extreme circumstances or are hard to re-lubricate.

Designed for adverse conditions of extreme loads of up to 25 kg/mm² and strong contamination. Fortified with MicPol® for increased lubricity and extremely long lasting protection against corrosion.

NSF H1, NSF 537 and NSF 538 certified, which gives this product full acceptability for use in all areas where incidental contact with food, beverages or drugs may occur.

Distinctive Properties and Key Advantages

  • Excellent, long lasting protection against corrosion and wear at very high pressure
  • Reduces power consumption
  • Strong resistance to (salt) water washout and spray-off
  • Inhibits rust and corrosion
  • Less stretching, binding, and ultimate failure of chains
  • Excellent dry run characteristics
  • PFAS-free

Product Application Areas
For the lubrication of Chains, Guide Ways, Slides, Injection Moulding Machine parts and many other components used in the (heavy) industry and for the manufacturing, processing, packaging and transportation of food.

Frequently Asked Questions

Heavily loaded chains can wear quickly when the load pushes lubricant out of the contact zone between pins and bushes, allowing metal-to-metal contact. Moisture and contamination can speed this up. Interflon Food Lube G (aerosol) is a chain oil spray with extreme pressure (EP) properties, developed for heavily loaded chains and guide ways in food production. It protects against wear, moisture and rust, and contains MicPol® technology, which helps the lubricant adhere to the metal surface. Whether it is the right choice depends on load, temperature and exposure to water.

Not sure what is causing the wear on your chains? Ask an Interflon Technical Advisor or see our chain case studies.

Chain lubricant can fail to reach the pins and bushes for several reasons, such as narrow gaps inside the chain, dirt or old lubricant, or a lubricant that does not penetrate well and stays on the outer plates. Applying more does not necessarily solve this. Interflon Food Lube G (aerosol) is a strongly penetrating chain oil spray. Clean the parts first, shake the can well, spray with the can upright or upside down (always in a vertical position), let it penetrate and wipe off the excess. A thin layer applied now and again works better than one thick layer.

Too many lubrication points to reach by hand?

Interflon Food Lube G (aerosol) is designed for heavily loaded chains and guide ways in machines that manufacture, process, package and transport food. For a versatile dry-film lubricant for general machine parts, cables and chains, Interflon Food Lube (aerosol) may suit better. For chains exposed to high temperatures, Interflon Food Lube HT is designed for that purpose. For gearboxes, or for a bulk oil for chains and guide ways under high loads and in wet conditions, Interflon Food Lube G220 is a multi-purpose CLP oil, used for example on pasteuriser chains.

Not sure which one fits your application?

Interflon Food Lube G (aerosol) can be used from -10 °C to 100 °C. The upper limit of 100 °C only applies once the solvent has evaporated.

In its original, unopened packaging the product has a shelf life of six years; storage below 0 °C should be avoided to guarantee product quality.

Yes, where food contact is incidental. Interflon Food Lube G (aerosol) is NSF H1 registered (registration number 136508) for applications where incidental food contact may occur, and is ISO 21469 certified. It is also NSF 537 (PFAS-free) and NSF 538 (MOAH-free) certified. For applications that require a 3H registration, Interflon Food Lube 3H is registered as both 3H and H1.
