Cleaning the guide columns of a tamping machine
A public transport company tested Interflon Degreaser EM30+ (aerosol) on the guide columns of a tamping machine, in order to remove built-up grease and dust contamination from the external environment.
The dust was damaging the guide columns, hindering their movement, and accumulating in the strands of the cables that control the machine’s motion—disrupting the correct downward alignment of the tamping tools.
