Interflon registers its full H1 portfolio under NSF 537 PFAS-free

NSF has introduced a new registration category that enables PFAS-free H1 food lubricants to be formally registered. Interflon considers this an important development for the food and beverage industry and therefore has registered as one of the first its complete portfolio of food-grade H1 lubricants under this new framework, with all approved products carrying the newly assigned NSF 537 code. 

“The introduction of NSF 537 gives food manufacturers a clear and verifiable way to demonstrate PFAS-free compliance,” says Kim Marijnissen, QA Officer at Interflon. “It supports both operational decisions and audit readiness.”

The NSF 537 code appears directly below the existing H1 registration number on each product label, alongside the Interflon PFAS-free logo. This allows maintenance, QA and HSE teams to identify PFAS-free lubricants at a glance and demonstrate compliance during audits. Interflon’s broad H1 portfolio supports applications across a wide temperature and pressure range, ensuring reliable lubrication in demanding production environments.

Clear, verifiable PFAS-free compliance

With the introduction of this new PFAS-free registration category, customers gain independently verified and globally recognised confirmation that Interflon’s H1 food lubricants contain no PFAS. The NSF 537 code provides:

• Transparent confirmation of PFAS-free status via the NSF website
• Additional support for food safety, QA and audit documentation
• Extra assurance for companies aiming to reduce or eliminate PFAS in their production environment

Interflon’s PFAS-free non-food lubricants will continue to be identified by the Interflon PFAS-free logo, as these products fall outside the scope of NSF food-grade registration.
