Should I use open gear grease as a spray or as bulk grease?
Both formats are built for the same job. Interflon Grease OG (aerosol) and the bulk version are lithium-calcium complex greases with MicPol® technology for heavily loaded open gears, worm wheels and guides, and both data sheets list a 4-ball weld load above 800 kg (ASTM D2596). The spray lets you apply a thin, transparent film straight from the can, upright or upside down, and has a shelf life of six years in unopened packaging. Because the spray contains solvent and propellant, use it away from ignition sources. The bulk version of Interflon Grease OG is not classified as hazardous under its safety data sheet.

Good preparation lets Interflon Grease OG (aerosol) bond to the metal. Old grease and dirt left on the teeth can prevent a new film from bonding, so remove or wash off old grease, clean the parts thoroughly with a solvent or alkaline cleaning agent and let them dry. Shake the can, spray from a vertical position only (upright or upside down) and apply a thin layer.
Grease OG resists wash-off thanks to excellent metal adhesion, and its transparent film makes thorough inspection of the parts easy.

Yes. Besides open gears and worm wheels, Interflon Grease OG (aerosol) is intended for guides, sliding bearings and pin and bush connections, and can be applied in locks, bridges and chains of heavy motors. Using one spray for several slow-moving, heavily loaded lubrication points can reduce the number of lubricants you need to keep in stock.
Interflon Grease OG (aerosol) keeps for six years in original, unopened packaging. Avoid storage temperatures below 0 °C, and protect the can from heat: it is a pressurised container that may burst if heated (H229). The first four digits of the eight-digit batch number show the year and month of manufacture (YY/MM).
