Guides steer the motion direction of chains, conveyors, telescopic systems etc. or control the accurate positioning of materials processing machines or packaging machines. Basically there are two types: flat guides (parts slide over each other, 60% of total surface) and roller guides (parts move on intermediate layer of a roller body, 40% of total total surface). There is direct metal on metal contact provoking wear and tear, accelerated by the introduction of dirt particles. Keeping them well lubricated is a big challenge.
