Lubrication of electric motor bearings on a ventilation fan

Initial situation

A customer specialised in tomato processing was lubricating two electric motor bearings monthly using a conventional grease. Each lubrication cycle required approximately 14 strokes of 1.25 ml using a Lube Shuttle grease gun.
With an 89% load, the motor's energy consumption was 84.70 A.

Our solution

Interflon Grease MP2/3 with MicPol® technology.

Benefits achieved

  • Power consumption reduced by 3.40
  • A Noticeably lower motor noise
  • Lower environmental impact due to reduced energy use

Result

Just one month after switching to Interflon Grease MP2/3, a clear reduction in current draw was observed, without any change to the motor, load, or lubrication schedule. Based on standard operating hours and electricity rates, the customer projects annual energy savings of approximately €1,600 for this motor alone.

The improvement is attributed to the unique properties of MicPol® technology, which forms an exceptionally low-friction, durable lubricating film, reducing energy loss and enhancing bearing performance, even in well-maintained equipment.

In addition to its performance benefits, Interflon Grease MP2/3 is PFAS-free and NSF H2 registered, making it a safer and more responsible choice for use in industrial food processing environments. With many other electric motors on-site operating under similar conditions, the potential for further savings is substantial.
