Reduced energy draw, bearing wear and fan noise
Reducing boiler fan bearing wear in a power plant
Initial situation
Sector: Energy production
The plant generates 330,000 MWh of electricity with a nominal output of 48 MWh.
The boiler fan bearings were producing excessive noise, leading to high energy consumption, increased vibration, and accelerated wear.
Our solution
Interflon Grease MP2/3 with MicPol® technology
Benefits achieved
- Reduced energy consumption
- Lower vibration
- Noticeable noise reduction
- Less bearing wear
- PFAS-free formulation for safer, more sustainable maintenance
Result
The most significant improvement achieved with MicPol® technology was a reduction in energy consumption.
Although the customer did not record energy draw data prior to switching to Interflon, they reported a clear improvement in overall system performance. As an electricity producer, the savings are valued more in terms of equipment longevity and environmental impact than in direct energy cost reduction.
