“Interflon is more than just their products”

MCA Linear Motion Robotics, based in Twello (the Netherlands), is more than just a component supplier in the field of linear, motion and robotics.
Take the specialists in their linear drive systems department: they have all the knowledge and experience needed to support customers in applying this precise area of motion technology. When it comes to lubrication advice, the company now relies on the technical advisors from Interflon. Following positive experiences with their expertise and responsiveness, MCA also decided to switch to Interflon’s lubricants and cleaners.

Precision in linear motion

Linear drive technology is widely used in machine building to perform linear movements, for example in handling or transport applications. Such machines are found across many sectors, from packaging to scientific laboratories.

To achieve smooth, low-friction and energy-efficient linear motion, these drive systems must meet strict standards. Dimensional tolerances and surface roughness of components such as spindles, slew bearings and racks are critical, and, as Technical Manager Daniël Jonker explains, “when all that is in order, optimal lubrication plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe operation.”

Reliable advice and fast support

When MCA delivers its components, customers receive detailed documentation that includes lubrication recommendations.
“Still, I regularly receive questions by phone or email about the right lubricant or lubrication frequency,” Jonker says. “It’s not an easy question, in many cases, it’s determined experimentally. But clear guidance helps prevent issues like dry-running linear guides, which can cause serious damage.”

To provide reliable backup for such specialist questions, MCA looked for a supplier offering the right products, knowledge and service.

That search ended when Interflon Technical Advisor Rudi Kingma visited. Jonker recalls: “He had a strong story and excellent products, so I decided to put him to the test and forward the next customer query to him. To my surprise, I received a detailed, relevant answer within 24 hours! That was the start of a partnership that has now lasted over a year, and for good reason. Whenever I call, Rudi or one of his colleagues is here the same or the next day, often with a practical solution in hand.”

Products and cooperation

MCA has now switched entirely to Interflon lubricants and cleaners and is updating its documentation accordingly. This documentation explicitly recommends Interflon products to help ensure the intended service life and performance of components.

Jonker explains: “Some linear guides we supply are already lubricated with Interflon products; others we stock for our customers. It’s not our core business, but when customers trust us for reliable linear drives, they also trust our lubrication advice. That’s why they can purchase Interflon products directly from us, with guidance if needed.”

In addition to lubricants, MCA also uses Interflon cleaners and protective products for component preservation. Preservation means first cleaning off dust and dirt, then applying the right product to prevent corrosion or degradation, essential when spare parts must be ready for use at any moment.

Jonker concludes: “What I really value is that whenever there’s a new development relevant to us, Rudi lets me know personally. He drops by, explains the reasoning, and we test the product together if it makes sense. That’s a great partnership.”
