Reduced power consumption of a 90 kW blower

A wastewater treatment plant sought to reduce its energy consumption and associated costs. The plant operates four blowers, two with a power rating of 90 kW and two with a power rating of 37 kW, and sought to optimize energy efficiency by focusing on one 90 kW blower initially. The goal was to implement an effective solution that could potentially be extended to all four blowers.

Our solution

We proposed Interflon Finnoly Additive T251, a high-performance gear oil additive, to address the power consumption concerns. This additive is designed to reduce friction, heat and wear in gearboxes, leading to improved energy efficiency.

The result

The application of Interflon Finnoly Additive T251 to the 90 kW blower resulted in a power consumption reduction of 5A, resulting in immediate cost savings. On a single 90 kW blower, the annual savings amounted to €1,727.

Extending Interflon Finnoly Additive T251 to all four blowers, could lead to annual savings exceeding €10,000. This has prompted the plant to use the additive across all its blower operations to achieve substantial cost savings and enhance overall energy efficiency.
