Lubrication interval extended by a factor 6

Chains on roller conveyor for 1 ton fertiliser bags

Initial situation

Chains were caked and covered in old lubricant. The old grease built up over time and made inspection of the chains very hard. Also grease dripping on the frame and floor which caused a slipping hazard. The old grease was attracting the fertiliser and turned it into a grinding paste which made the situation even worse. The chains needed to be lubricated once every 2-4 weeks, depending on the weather and the use of the conveyor.

Our solution

Interflon Food Lube G150 penetrates in the pins and bushing of the chains leaving a dry MicPol® film, rejecting dust and sand. Chains look and are clean and well protected against corrosion. Before applying the new lubricant, they had to remove the old grease which was very hard. With our effective, slow evaporating and user-friendly Interflon Degreaser EM30+ the job was done quicly and safe.

Result

In the previous situation the chains needed to be lubricated once every 2-4 weeks, depending on the weather and the use of the conveyor. Now the chains get only lubricated every 6 months, saving on time and lubricant. The chains stay nice and clean, no build up of fertiliser, no corrosion. The chains are cleaned with compressed air only.
