Challenge 1: Reduce lubricant leaks in the gearbox of inspection equipment

The gearbox generated high operating temperatures, resulting in lubricant leaks.

 

Our solution

We recommended applying Interflon Food lube G220, our heavy-duty, multi-purpose CLP oil.

  • Reduced lubricant consumption by 90%, from 25 litres per year to 2.2 litres per year
  • Extended lubrication intervals by 200%, from 6,000 hours to 18,000 hours
  • Reduced labour
     

Challenge 2: Lubricate the bearings of the inspection equipment without stopping production

The bearings of the customer's inspection equipment are located in hard-to-reach areas. When these bearings need to be lubricated, production needs to be stopped.

Our solution

We recommended implementing automatic lubrication and applying Interflon Food Grease 1.

Thanks to Interflon's solution, the following was achieved:

  • Lubrication of the bearings without the need to stop the operation
  • Reduced lubricant consumption by 50%
  • Reduced lubrication time by 90%

Challenge 3: Prevent premature failure of bearings in the can turner due to water contamination

The lifespan of the bearings in the can turning machine was affected by high water contamination. To address this issue, excessive grease was applied for lubrication.
