Transparent Grease for the Lubrication of Open Gears
Interflon
Grease OG
Exceptionally long lasting, transparent lithium-calcium-complex grease for open gears delivering the advantages of Interflon's unique MicPol® technology. Engineered for the problem-free lubrication of open and semi-enclosed gear drives over a wide range of requirements and environmental conditions.
Reduces mechanical power-loss and operational costs and exhibits excellent anti-wear, extreme pressure and anti-rust characteristics. Perfectly suitable for a long service life in applications where high load-carrying capacity under shock load conditions persist.
Clearly a step above the rest. This product allows you to safely extend open gearing service intervals to reduce costly maintenance, lubricant consumption and component failure whilst improving productivity. Strong reduction of lubricant costs by lower grease consumption.

frequently Asked Questions
On slow-running open gears, grease that is squeezed out or thrown off can leave the tooth flanks unprotected. Interflon Grease OG is a lithium-calcium complex grease (NLGI 0) with MicPol® technology for heavily loaded open gears, worm wheels and guides exposed to high pressure, vibration and shock loads. It has a 4-ball weld load above 800 kg (ASTM D2596) and a base oil viscosity of 800 cSt at 40 °C (ASTM D445). Its MicPol® technology is aimed at long service intervals, which can mean fewer lubrication rounds.
Not sure whether Grease OG suits your gear drive?
Water, spray and salt can wash grease off open gear teeth and leave the metal exposed to corrosion. Interflon Grease OG is designed for parts in corrosive environments with moisture, steam, extreme weather and (salt) water, and adheres strongly to metal. Under test conditions it achieves a water resistance rating of 0-90 (DIN 51807) and a corrosion rating of 0-0 in the SKF Emcor test with distilled water (DIN 51802). How long the film lasts in practice depends on exposure, load and the relubrication schedule.

Build-up on gear teeth can occur when new grease is applied over old lubricant, dirt or residues, or when too much grease is applied. For Interflon Grease OG, clean or purge the previous lubricant before use and apply the grease thinly. Grease OG does not drip and does not harden, and its light-brown, transparent film makes thorough inspection of the teeth easy. If build-up keeps returning, the cause can lie in the lubrication routine itself. Training on the shop floor is part of Interflon’s Lubrication as a Service (LaaS).
Interflon Grease OG has an application temperature range of -10 °C to 120 °C. Its dropping point of above 250 °C (DIN 51801) is a laboratory value, not a working temperature. In original, unopened packaging, the shelf life is four years; avoid storage temperatures below 0 °C. The first four digits of the eight-digit batch number show the year and month of manufacture (YY/MM).
Interflon Grease OG is designed for slow-moving, heavily loaded open gear transmissions, worm wheels and guides, and can also be applied to sliding bearings, pin and bush connections, locks, bridges and chains of heavy motors. It suits corrosive environments with moisture, steam, extreme weather conditions and (salt) water, between -10 °C and 120 °C. For ball, roller and slide bearings at high temperatures, Interflon Grease HTG is designed for continuous use up to 240 °C (270 °C for short periods). Grease HTG must not be mixed with other greases, so clean the bearing thoroughly before switching.
