Lubrication of the roller bearings in a tube bending and welding machine
Initial situation
Industry: Steel manufacturing.
Bearing grease was checked every three days. While the bearings remained intact, the grease had completely disappeared and had to be replenished. Despite this, up to 20 bearings failed every month. The machine has 16 rollers, each with 2 bearings (32 total), exposed to:
- Emulsified water (washout)
- Corrosion and oxidation
- Relubrication every three days
Each month, during format changeovers, the rollers were disassembled and cleaned with aggressive, hazardous chemicals.

For cleaning, they now use Interflon Eco Degreaser, which is safer and more effective than the previous product.
