Lubrication of Bearings
Challenge: Bearing failure due to lubrication failure
The customer's capping machine has eight bearings that require manual lubrication. Excessive lubrication of the bearings contaminated the oil that was lubricating the gears. To avoid this contamination, the bearings were not lubricated, leading to premature failures.
Our solution
We recommended implementing a centralized system and applying Interflon Food Grease LT2.
The result
Thanks to the installation of a centralized system and the use of high-performance grease, the following was achieved:
- Elimination of excess lubrication and contamination.
- Reduction in lubricant consumption by 75%.
- Prevention of premature bearing failure.
