External gearbox driving mixing arms in basin

Temperature down and 26.3% energy saving

Initial situation

The company operates in the processing and commercial import-export of raw ingredients and cocoa products. They formulated the following objectives:

  • Reduce oil temperature and gear vibration
  • Improve the working environment for employees
  • Decrease energy consumption by the gear unit
  • Minimize environmental impact.

The area is characterized by very dry and warm temperatures ranging between +35°C and +40°C.

Our solution

Our proposed solution is Interflon Grease MP00, a semi-liquid grease with MicPol® particles, reducing friction to a minimum and protecting seals and gaskets.

Result

After filling the gear unit with 120 litres of Interflon Grease MP00 and the gear box with 30 litres, we monitored the electricity consumption (kWh) over a 30-day production cycle. A comparison of the data before and after the application of Interflon Grease MP00, showed a reduction in temperature by 10°C and a decrease in the electricity consumption of 26.3%! Additionally, there was less vibration, contributing to improved working conditions for employees.

Cost saving

Based on the data available, the customer can expect an economic saving of:

- € 335,- based on a production period of 4,400 hours per year
- € 4.418,- based on a production period of 8,000 hours per year
- € 9.105,- based on a production period of 12,000 hours per year
