Lubricating fryer mesh plain bearings for optimal production

A French fries producer was experiencing recurrent production downtime due to the failure of fryer mesh plain bearings.

The company processes several tons of potatoes daily through four main phases. During the first phase, potatoes are selected and transported to the washing phase, where the return bearings are subjected to constant stress. In the subsequent cooking phase, the bearings of the fryer mesh conveyor surfaces endure intense work rates and harsh operating conditions, often leading to production stoppages. Even a few hours of downtime can result in significant financial losses.

Our Solution

To address this challenge, we introduced Interflon Grease HTG, a high-performance lubricant with MicPol® technology specifically designed for the lubrication of bearings, chains, slides and many other machine parts in environments where high temperatures, steam or contaminants rule out the use of conventional greases.

The result

Thanks to our unique MicPol® technology, the customer has definitively eliminated production stoppages. The reliability and efficiency of Interflon Grease HTG have completely prevented fryer bearing failures and the associated downtime issues. While the precise economic savings figures are confidential, it is estimated that the annual savings exceed €60,000.

In light of the exceptional performance of Interflon MicPol® technology, the customer has expanded its use to include Interflon Food Grease 2 for all gearbox bearings of the potato conveyor belts during the washing phase.
