Lubrication of Gearboxes
Challenge 1: Avoid premature gearbox failures and reduce operating temperature
The depalletizer gearbox at the customer's plant reached high operating temperatures, affecting the lubricant and seals, causing leaks.
Our solution
We recommended Interflon Food Lube, a high-performance multi-purpose CLP oil with MicPol.
The result
By applying Interflon Food Lube, the following was achieved:
- 10% reduction in temperature due to lower friction, resulting in an 8% decrease in electrical consumption.
- Extending lubrication intervals from 6,000 hours to 18,000 hours, reducing labor for oil changes and repairs.
Challenge 2: Extend the lifespan of the reducer and prevent corrosion
The water present in the area emulsified with the oil, reducing its lifespan and causing corrosion and poor lubrication in the gearbox. Additionally, seal failures caused oil to leak. All this led to premature failures and unnecessary equipment downtime.

The result
After applying Interflon Food Lube, the following was achieved:
- Eliminated oil leaks.
- 300% increase of lubrication intervals: extended from 8,000 hours to 32,000 hours.
- Extended lifespan of reducers.
