Lubrication of Bearings
Challenge 1: Reduce premature wear and failure of bearings caused by contamination with water and process fluids
The grease this customer used to lubricate the bearings emulsified with the process water, leading to excessive grease usage. The bearings needed to be replaced six times a year, halting the production line.
Our solution
We recommended Interflon Grease LS2.
The result
After applying Interflon, the following was achieved:
- Extended lubrication intervals from 5 days to 120 days.
- Reduction in bearing replacements from 3 to 0 in the first year.
- Reduced lubricant consumption by 95%, from 414 liters per year to 23 liters per year.
Challenge 2: Prevent premature failure of bearings caused by the effects of water and cleaning solution
The bearings of the rinser were severely affected by the aggressive action of water, reducing their lifespan. They were being lubricated manually, which can only be done when the machine is stopped.
Our solution
We recommended Interflon Food Grease LT2.
The result
After applying Interflon Food Lube G460, the following was achieved:
- Lubricant lifespan increased by 5x.
- Seal lifespan increased by 2x.
- 0 stains on bottles.
