Lubrication of Heads
Challenge 1: Prevent lubricant stains on the cap and avoid premature wear of the head
Contamination and oil in the head caused lubricant dripping that stained the cap. This poor lubrication led to premature wear of the head seals.
Our solution
We recommended Interflon Degreaser EM30+ and Interflon Fin Grease (aerosol).
The result
After applying Interflon, the following was achieved:
- Extended lubrication intervals by 185% from 7 to 20 days.
- 34% reduction in lubricant consumption from 1200 ml per month to 150 ml per month.
- Elimination of dripping that stained the caps.
- Reduced lubrication time 98% from 9 hours to 10 minutes per month.
Challenge 2: Prevent wear and failures due to lubricant contamination with water
The lubricant used by the customer was easily washed away by frequent machine cleaning, causing serious wear and premature failures of the capping heads.
Our solution
We recommended Interflon Fin Grease (aerosol).
The result
After applying Interflon Fin Grease, the following was achieved:
- Prevention of wear and premature failures.
- Prevention of lubricant washing, extending lubrication intervals by 60%.
- Reduction in lubricant consumption.
- 30% reduction in component replacement.
